Teresa was murdered at age twenty in 1999 by  Robert Franklin Ramirez a gang member and an associate of MS-13. Ramirez was starting his own gang in Los Angeles, California when he started his killing spree in 1998.   

Ramirez was tried and found guilty in 2010 and received a plea bargain, in the murder of our daughter in 1999 and the 1998 murder of Jose Guerra, 25. Ramirez received a plea bargain, which did not include the murder of Matthew Bravo, a 16-year old boy, shot in front of his mother, 3 attempted murders, and shooting at moving cars.

 

Court-ordered restitution was awarded to the Del Rio, Guerra and Bravo family. No restitution has been enforced on Ramirez because he does not work in prison.
